Perfumeria Gal Lip Balm
The Spring collections may be showing, but Winter is still howling outside our doors. At least in North America. Toronto was bombarded with a flurry of snow over the last few days, and everywhere you look on the streets, subways, shops, people are well bundled up in all manner of heavy coats, parkas, scarves, and touques of all descriptions. I love people watching at this time and enjoy seeing the creative ways people can combine the fashionable with the practical, looking hip while still keeping warm. I love the look of a long fashionable coat paired with a pair of funky fleece-trimmed rubber Sorel boots, topped with a quirky woolen hat, brightly coloured woolen scarf, and mittens. Winter outerwear is a time when you can look your most quirky and make a definite fashion statement without following any set trends. While the weather is so miserable, and all you can think about is keeping warm and dry, while out and about, one of life's small pleasures is to pull an adorable little lip balm out of your purse (preferably in your favourite fragrance), to keep your lips well moisturized and the Winter weather at bay.
These adorable lip balms in their Art Deco tins are by Perfumeria Gal Madrid, a perfume house from Spain that has been crafting fine perfumes for over 100 years.
Violet and Red Current
Violetta - my favourite
The balms are a vaseline base, very soft and light textured. The little tins come in different Art Deco designs and are available in six different scents - orange, vanilla, violet, red current, peach and strawberry. The scent is very light, just a hint of fragrance, without being overpowering. The balms are wonderful used on their own, under lipstick for a little more moisturizing, or over lipstick, for a gloss effect.
The tins are small enough to pop in your make-up bag, and are reasonably priced at $8.00, so you can afford to treat yourself to a few flavours or pick up an extra one for a small present.
I purchased these Gal lip balms at a small nail boutique in Little Portugal, in Toronto. They are also available online at beautyhabit.com or Amazon.com.
