It takes a special couple to withstand the test of time!


 

On this special occasion in honour of our parents,
we would like to thank our many aunts, uncles and family for sharing this day with us and to the University of Waterloo and their catering department for helping make our day extra special.



Guests were served with a choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic punch during our lovely outdoor garden party.  Here is a one of our non-alcoholic punches.  Punch was spiked with Rum for our alcohol version.

Fruit Juice Punch
1/3 cup (75 ml) strong tea (hot)

1 cup (250 ml) sugar

1/4 cup orange or grape juice

1/2 cup (125 ml) lemon juice

2 cups (500 ml) ginger ale

2 cups (500 ml) soda water

Prepare tea with 1 tbsp (15) ml tea or 3 tea bags over which you pour 1/2 cup (125) boiling water.  Let steep for 5 minutes then pour over the sugar.  Stir until sugar is dissolved.

Pour the tea syrup into a large jug, then add the orange juice and lemon juice.  Add ice cubes to the mixture, or put in the refrigerator.

When ready to serve, add the ginger ale and soda water.  Garnish to taste with orange slices cut in quarters and/or red Maraschino cherries.
