The Spa Travellers swooned Ooooh La La while visiting the latest French Pastry chef, Nadege at 780 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M6J 1G2. You can parle vous francais (and l'englais) with them at (416) 368-2009. They are open until 8:00 p.m. nightly.
Once inside, we found a white, crisp and super clean interior with dishware to match. You can look into a spotless open glass windowed kitchen and watch the chef and her staff put the finishing touches on their freshly baked delights.
As wonderful as the pastries were, we also came for the tea. In particular, a rarely available brand named Kusmi, which hails from Russia! To my right is a tea called PRINCE VLADIMAR. A most superb tea, with flavours of citrus (grapefruit), vanilla and spices which include Bergamot , lemon, cinnamon and cloves. $7.50 for 25g - worth it and we are told, their best seller. Larger sizes and additional flavours are also available for the discerning buyer.
C'EST DELISH!
While enjoying a detoxifying tea in the evening, I listened as the chef told me she was originally from France, and moved to London, England for seven years to develop culinary and language skills before moving to Toronto to open her signature shop here.
Get ready for great authentic Macaroon
