Bergdorf Goodman at 58th Street and Fifth Avenue

The Spa Travellers will be reviewing New York's Spring Fling Sniffapalooza throughout the next few weeks where we both attended.  We would like to thank both the event organizers, Karen Adams and especially Karen Dubin, Executive Director for  her wonderful hospitality throughout the weekend event.   

Day one began at Bergdorf Goodman with each perfume house presenting to us their latest  wares.  All presenters were enthusiastic, different and quickly described their spring launch.  No time to get bored.  Many of the perfume counters offered discounts or special promotions if we bought that day. Thank you to the department store for their very generous gift bags.

After the morning festivities, it was time for lunch at Benoit at 60 W. 56th Street where we munched on Benoit Salad, Chicken Breasts garnished with pearl onions and mushrooms and Dark Gianduja Eclair with golden coloured dragees on top.

The Spa Travellers then headed over to Henry Bendel (perfume shopping extravaganza) for more speakers, another raffle basket and guest perfumers.

Our last stop was the prestigious Plaza Hotel.  The speaker was fifth generation perfumer, Ben Krigler.  He described his family's legendary perfumes which were sought after by Hollywood legends and politicians from the golden era.  Sampling his perfume scents was encouraged and he was able to answer any personal questions.  The Grand Concourse Level was our final destination for the day where complementary Macaroons by Payard were waiting for us with a chance to make any final last minute purchases.  It was then time to go back to our hotel to sample all our new goods and catch up on any Royal Wedding clips we may have missed from yesterday during our day of travel.

Day two started May 1, 2011 at Bond No. 9 on Broadway and Lafayette.  We wound our way to Le Labo and MIN NY.  We stopped for Lunch which was served at Barolo.  We feasted on Ceasar Salad, Penne Pasta roasted with a classic creamy vodka sauce and finished with Tiramisu at the restaurant on West Broadway.  We finished Sunday by visiting at many perfume stores along beautiful Bleecker Street.  We will be highlighting many of the these products while also highlighting some of the latest creations by new perfume artisans which launched their creations for the very first time ever during our lunchtime extravaganza.
