The first creative effort of Sabine Poncet, designer of fragrance and fashion accessories. Above is her Charmeuse Silk Scarf designed by a California artist using the historic Batik technique (She can definitely put me down for one).
Each silk scarf is individually hand drawn, waxed, then hand painted with the most brilliant permanent pigments available. After this long process, the silk scarf edges are folded and sewn by hand. Dimensions are 30 inches by 30 inches. Retail $295.00.
We were lucky enough to be seated beside the designer before she presented at our luncheon on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Her Eau de Perfum contains 20% essential oils to maximize its intensity and longevity and are inspired by the Giverny Garden of Monet and her mother who is a sculpture and painter.
The packaging for her Eau de Parfum is as outstanding as is the art work in her scarf above. Each one is in a silk lined blue box which emulates her scarf. The designer also makes limited edition hand bags and jewelry with enamel and 18 carat gold vermeil.
Sebine is a French national who currently resides in Chicago.
